Take time to twirl through the Royal Academy of Arts this winter and you’ll get a poptastic surprise. The uber-arty Mayfair eatery and gallery, Sketch, is hosting its own take on the Royal Academy of Arts (RAA) Café. For December and January only they’ll be tickling your tastebuds in an exhibition-themed pop-up.
Running along side GSK Contemporary’s environmental exhibition: Earth, Art of a Changing World, the café’s surreal eco-themed interior was created by Mark Lawson Bell, Artistic Director at Sketch and features 100% recycled furniture.
Indulge in breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea whilst gazing upon two multi-hued ‘guard dogs’ recycled from toys by Robert Bradford. Then cast your arty eye over an installation of 1,000 books and chairs by interiors gurus Established & Sons and Martino Gamper... Or pop off with your take-away goodies and settle down for a snack snuggle in the portico where handmade blankets and hot water bottles will be on hand. And for that extra added warm glow? Try a tipple of the limited edition POP Earth Champagne made from eco sourced grapes in a 100% recycled bottle.
