Guilty pleasures, super-powers and the reason why luxury ethical fashion labels are so thin on the ground. Peter Ingwersen, international hero of ultra-sexy womenswear label, Noir, gives us a sneaky peak into his world.
When I was little, I wanted to be a rock star. I loved KISS and was totally into Kate Bush. But I realized it wasn't enough to just love music - I also had to either read notes or be an above average singer. I absolutely couldn't do either!
I knew I was destined to be a designer when I saw The Adams Family.
The idea for launching Noir, came from getting older. It used to be about me, me, me. Now it is about us, us, us and Jacob. (Peter's pet cocker spaniel)
Call me big-headed, but I have a fabulous talent for computers. I love technology. I'm so amazed and inspired by what nerds can offer to the world. These times are so “the revenge of the nerdsâ€!
Luxury ethical fashion labels are thin on the ground because a lot of designers and brands are not embracing this opportunity because we all have an idea that ethical fashion is about beet rose, and fabrics so thick you can smoke them! However one or two pioneers will have to go forward, inspire and show that ethical fashion and corporate social responsibility can be truly sexy.
A woman looks most sexy when shehas got a great accessory on her arm, like a stylish man.
Some might say it's an 'eco-sin' but I just can't live without Coca-Cola.
I get my creative juices flowing by...challenging myself. I love to set goals and see if I can deliver - trying new angles along the way.
The most tricky part of being an ethical designer is it is not difficult so everyone could join.
I'm embarrassed to say it but I'm a workaholic.
If I had super-powers for one day, I would love to take a day off!
My guilty pleasures are flirtatiously smacking bottoms.
If I was Prime Minister for the dayI would ask for better communication skills for everyone, and higher heels for all women.
The End!
